Turtle Reserve

USD0 per person
***Please note that this is not a tour.
This is a scientific reserve where you can, on some occasions, witness the work of its volunteers.
The reserve of Ojochal, just 15 minutes drive south of Uvita is the perfect occasion to see some turtle nests and baby turtles during your stay in Costa Rica.
Reserva Playa Tortuga is an amazing initiative that begun over 10 years ago and their sea turtle conservation program will allow you to have a glance at the different stages of the Olive Ridley nesting process.
Also, please consider that the nesting season typically runs from June to December with September and October being the best months to witness this incredible phenomenon.
The reserve does not welcome visitors with a fixed schedule as it will depend on the day-to-day operations of the conservation program. So the best is to check their social media pages regularly for the release of baby turtles to the ocean.
Visitors do not have to pay for this 1 to 2-hour authentic adventure. However, we can only encourage you to participate with donations.
