Discover Playa Ventanas
Playa Ventanas is just a 10 minutes drive to the South of Uvita and is probably the most “well-equipped” beach of all the wild beaches of the Costa Ballena. Here you will find breathtaking views of the jungle dropping down into the Pacific ocean, a river, a lifeguard tower, many local stalls for drinks and snacks, sunbeds (a true luxury here) and some exceptional caves. “Ventanas” in Spanish means “windows”: this gives you an idea of the main attraction coming with this beach.
Families, couples and friends alike will be happy to visit this beach as this is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. However, please keep in mind that it can be crowded during high season, weekends or holidays.
Good to Know
Between Uvita and Ojochal (just before the Jurassic Plaza when you head South), on the main highway 34, there will be sign with “Playa Ventanas” and a dirt road going down. Keep going for a few hundred meters, cross a shallow little river (the road just after the river can be tricky for low or 2WD vehicles, especially during wet season). Then you will arrive to a guard hut where you will need to pay to access the beach and park your car.
We would like to remind you to always be careful with your car, keep it closed and do not leave any valuables in the car.
