Playa Ventanas

Discover Playa Ventanas

Playa Ventanas is just a 10-minute drive to the south of Uvita and is one of the most stunning beaches of all the wild beaches of the Costa Ballena. Here you will find breathtaking views of the jungle dropping down into the Pacific Ocean, a river, a lifeguard tower, many local vendors selling drinks and snacks, lounge chairs (a true luxury here), and some exceptional caves. “Ventanas” in Spanish means “windows,” and that’s exactly what the many caves on this beach look like.

Families, couples, and friends alike will be happy to visit this beach. Do keep in mind however that it can be crowded during the high season and on weekends and holidays.

Access

Between Uvita and Ojochal (just before the Jurassic Plaza when you head south), on the main highway 34, there will be a sign with “Playa Ventanas” and a dirt road going down to the beach. Keep going for a few hundred meters and cross a shallow little river (the road just after the river can be tricky for low or 2WD vehicles, especially during the rainy season). You will arrive at a guard hut where you will need to pay to access the beach and park your car.

We would like to remind you to always be careful with your car. Keep it locked and do not leave any valuables in the car.
